63rd Annual Wine Country Celebration

The 63rd Annual Wine Country Celebration and Niagara Wine Festival is set for September 19-21, and 26-28, in St. Catharines, ON, just minutes from Niagara Falls. The event celebrates the harvest of the bountiful wine country with live concerts, parades, a grape stomp, and local cuisine paired with just the right vintages.

The hub of the festival is in Historic Montebello Park, in St. Catharines, where the stage will feature chart-topping Canadian artists, local bands and some of the world’s best tribute bands, including ‘Hotel California,’ the premier Eagle’s tribute band, and tributes to Elton John and U2.

The star of the show is the wine, with 24 participating wineries, including Chateau des Charmes. Enjoy a wide variety of wines by the glass or by the sample. The food venue includes local chefs offering regional cuisine, purchased for 1-3 tokens, which cost $3.25. There are plenty of experts on hand to help you pair your food selections with just the right wine. Find artisan cheeses, and Canada’s best food and wine.

The Mayor’s invitational grape stomp is a scene to enjoy, as well as numerous parades like The Pied Piper Parade where the theme is Mr. Grape, and the Meridian Grande Parade which draws about 100,000 spectators. Kids will love the inflatables, mini-golf and shooting gallery.

  1. Tasting different kinds of wine is one of my favorite things to do. There are so many different varieties! A festival like this is right up my alley. Thanks for the post. Your blogs always make me want to travel …
