Smoky Mountain Sea Life

When you think about the Smoky Mountains you probably don’t immediately think about sharks, or coral reefs, or tropical rain forests.  But once you visit Ripleys Aquarium of the Smokies, you will.

The Ripleys Aquarium in Gatlinburg is home to more than 10,000 aquatic animals from around the world, representing 350 different species.  Exciting and fascinating exhibits include the Tropical Rain Forest where the lush environment harbors thousands of fish including piranhas; Ocean Realm, where you’ll discover unique species of eel and flounder among the residents; and Shark Lagoon lets you walk in an underground tunnel and come face-to-face with sea turtles, sawfish and sharks.
