Only 15 minutes from the strip on the Southeast side of town, this chocolate factory is sure to be a sweet time.  Forrest Mars Jr. named his chocolates for his mother who made them from scratch in her kitchen.  Using the same recipe but on a much grander scale, you’ll marvel at the tubes, pipes, conveyors and tanks with 35,000 gallons of chocolate as you enjoy this free tour.  Of course the tour ends with a chance to sample some of their fine chocolates and a retail area to take some with you.  In the summer your purchase comes with an ice pack to ensure your precious chocolates wont melt, and keep them fresh…because Mom’s recipe uses no preservatives.

Right next door you are welcomed to wander about the three acre botanical cactus garden featuring 300 varieties of cactus.  Because chocolate and cactus go together like…. Well, anything goes with chocolate!
