San Diego Christmas in LEGOLAND California

If you haven’t visited San Diego during the winter holidays, you’re missing out on quite a treat! It is always a fun, festive time of year, and with one of the mildest winters in the country, San Diego is a favorite retreat! But just because there’s beautiful spring-like weather during winter doesn’t mean that the holiday season is any less spectacular. The city decks itself out in Christmas lights, especially in Chula Vista, which hosts a Christmas Circle each year. There are plenty of ice skating events, flotillas, the Holiday Bowl Parade, and Toys 4 Tots events scattered throughout the city.

California’s LEGOLAND, located in nearby Carlsbad, offers guests the opportunity to enjoy Christmas at its finest! Every weekend and every day the week after Christmas, you can join the LEGO Clubhouse for the holiday build. With a new holiday theme every week, use the help from the special building tips from the Clubhouse Brickology sessions to build awesome holiday objects!

Dec. 7-8: Trees, Wreaths, and Garlands
Dec. 14-15: Santa, Elves, and Snowmen
Dec. 21-22: Toys and Gifts
Dec. 28-29: Forest Animals and Villagers

Starting Thursday, December 5, you can join LEGOLAND for their Nightly Tree Lighting Ceremony, when a celebrity guest lights the world’s tallest LEGO Christmas tree in the annual tree lighting ceremony at 5:30 p.m. Families gather around the giant tree, which stands more than 30 feet tall and is made of more than 245,000 forest green DUPLO bricks. Surrounded by packages and LEGO characters the whole family can enjoy, the tree leads the event with festive entertainment, fireworks, and a visit from Santa himself! Each night after December 5 until Christmas, a lucky child will be randomly selected to help flip the switch that lights up the LEGO Christmas tree!

From now until December 31, guests to LEGOLAND can enjoy the real snow with Holiday Snow Days! Have fun tubing and build a snowman with LEGO accessories, enjoy the Holiday Village building activity at the Clubhouse, watch the nightly lighting of the LEGO Christmas tree, and listen to holiday entertainment, including The Big Test Holidays, Brickettes, Jingle Jammers, and more! Taste delicious treats off the Fun Town Holiday Food Truck, and visit Santa and his holiday helpers!

During select evenings, enjoy everything from the Holiday Snow Days during the evening Winter Nights, plus a few other exciting features! LEGOLAND will have extended park hours from 5-7 p.m., and you can enjoy the Holiday Lights Show with animated lights and holiday tunes. Enjoy live music, carolers, and strolling entertainment, not to mention the nightly fireworks December 26-31.
