Grand Ole Opry Performances June 15-16

Every performance at the Grand Ole Opry is full of great talent that both entertains and warms your heart. If you are looking for the perfect way to spend you weekend, consider a trip to this incredible Nashville attraction. This weekend brings some of the best talents in country music, including performances by Del McCoury, Crystal Gayle and more.

On Friday, before the show starts, make sure you check out the Opry Shop, where Randy Rudder, the author of Chicken Soup for the Soul: Country Music, will be signing copies. Inside the pages of the book, you will learn some of the stories behind your favorite songs, artists and songwriters. This event is free to all who attend, so don’t miss out on your chance to get a copy of this great book signed by one of the authors.

Then, settle into your seat for a night to remember, with performances by Crystal Gayle, The Farm, the Del McCoury Band, John Conlee and more. In the 1970’s, Gayle debuted with a Top 40 hit “I’ve Cried (The Blues Right out of My Eyes)” in a style similar to Loretta Lynn – Gayle’s older sister. Del McCoury has been an Opry member since 2003, and he and his band have been loved by bluegrass fans for years. The band’s followers, “Del-Heads,” remain loyal and strong today. See Gayle, McCoury and more talented country artists Friday night.

Or wait until Saturday night when McCoury is joined by T.G. Sheppard, Jim Ed Brown, Riders In The Sky and more. Sheppard was one of the leading country-pop singers in the 70’s when he first started in the record industry. Since then, he has still been releasing popular CDs, including Timeless, a collection of 1940 and 50 love songs. Jim Ed Brown has been a member of the Grand Ole Opry since 1963, and he still awes audience members with his smooth voice. The Western-style fashion of Riders In The Sky has graced the Opry stage for years; the four group members have been a part of the Opry since the early 80’s. They have also taken part in the Disney/Pixar favorites Toy Story 2, releasing the album Woody’s Roundup featuring Riders In The Sky, and Monsters Inc., with the album Monsters Inc.: Scream Factory Favorites.

When you attend the Opry either of these two nights, you will be in for a country music treat. Don’t miss out on the incredible opportunity to catch some of your favorite artists from the past, and learn more about them with Chicken Soup for the Soul: Country Music. The lineup is below. When you’re staying in Nashville for the show, make sure you stay in comfort and convenience, with a hotel nearby the theatre. The Gaylord Opryland Hotel, Guesthouse Inn & Suites Music Valley and the Radisson Hotel at Opryland are all within a half-mile and provide you with all the comforts and luxuries you deserve during your stay.
