Grand Ole Opry Performances for Thursday, May 3 to Tuesday, May 8

Country music fans love the Grand Ole Opry, that much is certain. This week, the Opry House and Ryman Auditorium host a variety of performances for you to enjoy. Every week, the Opry House invites different entertainers, making every show unique. The Ryman Auditorium, on Thursday, presents the Opry Country Classics, hosted by Grammy-winning Larry Gatlin, for a celebration of country stars, stories and songs. This coming Tuesday, the 8th, an additional date is added on for even more musical entertainment.

On May 3, the Ryman Auditorium features Charlie Daniels, one of the most well-known names in country music. When he takes the stage for the Opry Country Classics as the spotlight artist, you’ll be sure to expect him in his signature “bull rider” hat and belt buckle. He and his band have graced the country music charts with hits such as “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” and “Uneasy Rider.” Daniels is joined by a variety of other country music favorites, including Jim Glaser and Ronnie Robbins.

Terri Clark, who will be taking the Opry House stage on Friday, has been a country music fan all her life. From the early nineties on, Clark has given us, as country music fans ourselves, Top 10 hits such as “Better Things To Do,” “Poor, Poor Pitiful Me,” and “Girls Lie Too.” See her on stage with Darryl Worley, The Grascals and more. Then, on Saturday, Kristen Kelly’s “little more grease than polish” musical style will instill a sense of country music pride. Her songs embrace the musical styles of favorite performers such as Fleetwood Mac, The Eagles and Bob Segar.

May 8th brings a collection of newer and classic artists, such as Josh Thompson and Alan Jackson, for an extra day of Grand Ole Opry musical celebration. Josh Thompson’s “Beer on the Table” is a favorite Friday night song, while Alan Jackson always brings his audience a “Good Time.” These two popular artists are joined by other favorites, such as Thompson Square, Little Big Town and Jimmy Wayne.

The Grand Ole Opry House is located in Opryland, conveniently filled with some of the best hotels right next to the show. The Gaylord Opryland Hotel, the Radisson Hotel and Holiday Inn Express & Suites are just a few of the many hotels in the area.

  1. I adore Charlie Daniels. The Devil Went Down to Georgia is perhaps the most beloved song in country music history. It’s what inspired me to take up the fiddle… and ultimately decide that the devil will always be better at it.

  2. Im visiting Nashville in October. Im going to the Opry for sure! Being a huge Brad Paisley fan I hope I get lucky and get to see him

  3. I have never been to the Grand Old Opry, but I definitely want to now! The line-ups for the shows are pretty spectacular!
