Zoovie Nights at Nashville Zoo

Pack up your blankets and lawn chairs, Zoovie Nights has returned to the Nashville Zoo! Free with admission, the April 20th Zoovie Night will feature games, bouncy castles and music along with the Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs film. For an additional fee, you can also have after-hour access to the carousel and DinoTrek exhibit.

Grab your kids and prepare for a movie under the stars! Disney’s Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs is the third film in the highly popular animated Ice Age series. It is the fourth highest grossing film of all time, and tells the comedic tale of various prehistoric animals who find themselves in historically bad situations. Feel free to wander around the zoo’s festival field while the movie is playing for a snack from the concession stands, or to get your face painted.

The new DinoTrek exhibit will also be open for Zoovie Nights, but requires an additional fee of four dollars for non-members. In the Cretaceous Creatures area, you will discover the dinosaur’s close relatives that may live in your backyard! Get in touch with the prehistoric world at Dino-facts: Dig This and explore the commonalities between current zoo inhabitants and their prehistoric cousins. Be sure to get your tickets before 5pm!

During the day, the vast zoo’s many exhibits are open for viewing. See many rare and exotic animals, like the Clouded Leopard, whose cubs have recently been introduced to the public. Meet the Masai Giraffes, White-cheeked Gibbon, and the 30 Caribbean Flamingos that color the property’s most popular exhibits.

With Zoovie Nights and several things to do during the day, the Nashville Zoo is a great place to spend your weekend getaway. For a more convenient stay, be sure to book one of the comfortable hotels within five miles, like the Hampton Inn & Suites Nashville and the Best Western Brentwood Inn & Suites.

  1. I love dinosaurs! I haven’t seen that Ice Age movie yet, so I’d definitely be interested in taking my niece to a Zoovie Night. She’d be the perfect excuse to spend the night with three of my favorite things combined together – zoos, dinosaurs and movies.
