Great Variety of Attractions in Orlando!

If you have a holiday weekend in honor of Columbus Day on October 10th, then head to Orlando as soon as possible to participate in the events and activities taking place in the next few days. Sports enthusiasts will enjoy the massive, nation-wide cross country event going on Friday and Saturday, and the leisurely type may prefer to check out a unique lounge with an interior made entirely out of ice. A new adventure tour has also been recently constructed at the Forever Florida eco-ranch that will guarantee an amazing getaway. Check out some of the different attractions below.

Home to the state’s first and only Zipline Safari course, Forever Florida offers a unique and thrilling excursion that will send participants soaring over the 4,700 acre eco-ranch. Explore the region’s forested wetlands while flying on a network of steel cables that are suspended 55 ft in the air, and propel riders at speeds up to 25 mph. While zipping around the conservation area, tourists will witness three thriving ecosystems as well as wildlife that live in the habitat. Say hello to George, a 13 ft alligator who has been soaking in his favorite pond at Forever Florida for nearly 60 years! Have a blast at this family activity that is exhilarating and educational.

The weather in Orlando is still quite warm as the season transitions to fall, but at the ICEBAR it is 27 degrees all year long. Upon entry into this extremely cool hangout, guests will be presented with the necessary coverings for keeping warm. Walking in, you’ll quickly notice that everything in the establishment is made of ice: the bar, couches, sculptures, and even the cocktail glasses. LED lights reflect off the different ice furnishings to create a nightlife atmosphere unlike any you’ve ever experienced. “Chill out” this weekend at the coolest bar in the city.

College and high school aged athletes will flock from all parts of the country this weekend for the 16thannual Walt Disney World Cross Country Classic taking place October 7th & 8th at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Girls and Boys will compete in either the 5K or 8K events, and these runners will be of the highest caliber in the U.S. Spectators are welcome to come and support the promising young stars as well as bring coolers with non-alcoholic beverages.

  1. Icebar sounds really cool, and with the weather not really turning cold quite yet, these are probably the last days that you would want to go in and freeeeze.
