Starting April 16 and going through the end of the month, visitors will have a chance to take part in the environmentally friendly event, “Earth Day,” in Washington DC. The event will bring together volunteers and businesses from all over the area to celebrate the city’s natural areas such as nature parks and trails. Visitors will also have the chance to help clean up target locations in the DC area, including natural streams, creek beds and major walking areas. Each day will bring a new way to help make the environment better, and you can help make DC “greener” than ever before! If you’re interested in this event or would like to book a vacation, you can reserve DC lodging.
Visitors can enjoy the sights of DC even more with the Washington Photo Safari Full Day, taking them close to landmark memorials and famous national architecture. Walk with a knowledgeable tour guide who will provide a few techniques for taking high quality photographs, whether you’re carrying a high quality, LSR camera or a general point-and-shoot. Visit memorable areas such as the White House, U.S. Capitol, Iwo Jima Memorial, Albert Einstein Memorial and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.
You can also enjoy the surrounding nature on two wheels with the Bike the Sites Guided Bike Tour of Washington, DC. Follow an adventurous guide for four to eight miles as you learn about some of the national history and view places such as the Reflecting Pool, Lincoln Memorial, White House and Washington Monument. The experience is great for those that love the outdoors and want a little exercise while they’re touring the city’s sites.
