International Children’s Festival Brings Youth and Laughter to Vancouver, BC

The International Children’s Festival brings Vancouver, BC to life with its exciting activities and events. This year, the event takes place on Beatty Street from May17th to the 24th. Acrobats, theaters, dancers, and musicians come to the city to entertain children and adults alike. In the past, there have even been children’s artists and authors at the event. You can’t help but get caught up in the enthusiasm and excitement of the festivities.

For more family-friendly fun outside of the children’s festival, go on the Victoria Bus Tour and Whale Watching Cruise from Vancouver. The bus tour portion of the activity will take you by some of the exciting cultural and historic sites of the city like Empress Hotel, BC legislature building, and Royal BC Museum before stopping at the glorious Vancouver harbor. If the harbors don’t take your breath away, the killer whales you see on this tour will. These incredible creatures are spectacular to see in person.

Another activity the whole family can enjoy is the Fraser River Safari. Hop aboard a custom-made boat that will take you along Fraser River’s most scenic areas. See both the Coast and Cascade Mountains as the guide tells you about missionaries, fur traders, and gold miners who used to populate the area. Legends and native wildlife will have you and your children captivated during the entire tour.

Yorktown Civil War Weekend in Williamsburg, VA

An exciting Memorial Day Weekend is ahead of everyone visiting Williamsburg, VA May 29th and 30th because the Yorktown Civil War Weekend will be taking place. This event will be located at the Yorktown National Battlefield and Yorktown Victory Center and includes incredible events like Civil War music demonstrations, weapons demonstrations, field medical demonstrations, and much more. You won’t believe how rich in both history and excitement this event will be. It really brings the past to life!

When you aren’t taking part in the activities of the Yorktown Civil War Weekend, see the other attractions that the Williamsburg area has to offer. The Yorktown Sailing Cruises will give you more history and background on the area in its own unique way. A 300 year old tall ship is your mode of transportation, and it will take you by attractions like Yorktown Battlefield and Victory Monument. You can’t find a more unique or exciting tour anywhere else.

With all of the patriotism this weekend brings to the surface, there is no better time to take a tour of our nation’s presidents at President’s Park. Go and visit the 16 foot busts that give you a larger-than-life view of these great men. Learn about how each individual shaped the nation to make it what it is today. A Cinco de Mayo Celebration in San Antonio, TX

Celebrate Cinco de May in San Antonio, TX this year. The festival takes place on the 5th of May and is widely acknowledged as a day to appreciate Mexican pride and heritage. While the holiday is not a government mandated holiday, it is voluntarily celebrated by citizens in the United States and areas of Mexico every year.  The event will take place in Market Square with delicious Tex-Mex food for you to enjoy as well as arts and crafts from Mexico. You will love exploring the vendor’s stands and finding the perfect souvenirs to take home with you.

While you’re in San Antonio for this cultural celebration, see the Spanish influence on the city with the Rio San Antonio River Walk Cruises.  The city is full of beautiful architecture and history that joins two separate cultures to create a city that is as unique as it is fascinating to explore. See sights like the Alamo, San Fernando Cathedral, and other historic parts of the city as you cruise along the river. 2010 Blues Music Awards in Memphis, TN

Memphis, TN is known as the home of the blues, so it’s not surprising that they are hosting the biggest blues event of the year. The 2010 Blues Music Awards play a huge part in the blues industry, and you can go to Memphis and be a part of it all. Artists, fans, and industry leaders gather for this award in anticipation of seeing special talents recognized, so you get the chance to see some of the biggest names in the blues industry. This is an event you won’t want to miss!

While you’re in the city to celebrate blues music, visit the Blues City Cafe. The cafe is located on historic Beale Street where blues musicians gather to play and dance together. Family Fest in the Smokies Takes Place in Gatlinburg, TN
