The Grand Ole Opry has an event this month designed especially for modern country-lovers, when Hunter Hayes takes the stage. Hayes is new to the country scene, releasing his first CD in October of 2011. His hit single “Storm Warning” has swept the nation, making him an instant favorite to all country lovers. On Friday, April 13, Hayes will be performing on the Grand Ole Opry stage with other modern country stars, including Thompson Square and Jana Kramer. Before the show, however, Hayes will be signing copies of his self-titled CD. Do not miss out on this opportunity to meet with this young and talented performer.
Starting at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, April 13, Hunter Hayes will be in the Grand Ole Opry House signing autographs of his CD, featuring songs “Storm Warning” and “Wanted.” He will be signing copies until thirty minutes before the concert begins. At 7:00, he will join popular duo Thompson Square, Billboard Top 20 artist Ricky Skaggs, and debuting artist Jana Kramer, among others. This concert event blends in popular new tracks with some of the older tunes we all love.
Thompson Square is a husband-and-wife duo who rose to fame after their popular track “Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not” infected the radio. The song reached the Number One spot on the Hot Country Songs chart in April of 2011. As a married couple, their chemistry is undeniable in their voices and in their performances. Some of their other favored songs are “I Got You,” which settled into the Number 8 spot on the US Country Songs Billboard, and “Glass.” When performing on stage, Thompson Square always puts on a show that both moves and entertains the audience.
Ricky Skaggs is no newbie to country music or the Grand Ole Opry. He has been performing since the 1970s and was inducted into the Opry in 1982. Skaggs entered the world of music with dreams of reaching center stage – dreams which he has achieved. He moved to the top of the charts in the early 80s, with his hit song “Waitin’ for the Sun to Shine,” and remained there as one of Billboard’s Top 20 artists of the decade. Within the years Skaggs has been performing, he has accumulated eight awards from the Country Music Association, nine Grammy’s, and dozens of other honors. He is currently touring with his band Kentucky Thunder. During this event, Skaggs brings some of the older flare of country music for an incredible performance beside the modern favorites.
For the first time on the Opry stage, newcomer Jana Kramer is joining the ranks. Kramer kicked off her musical career recently, gaining fame on the popular television series “One Tree Hill.” She has worked as an actress for the past decade, but has recently made the shift into music. Country music is her real passion and dream. Kramer comes from a country-loving family and her passion shows in her songs. Her emotional lyrics and sweet, unique voice have set her out among other country singers. Welcome her to the Opry stage when she performs alongside Hayes, Thompson Square, and Skaggs.
Hunter Hayes has been performing ever since he could walk. His musical talent is undeniable, as he plays bass guitar, drums, keyboard, and thirty other instruments. His powerful voice is one to acknowledge in all of his songs. He made his Grand Ole Opry debut in August of 2011 and is ready to take the stage again in another incredible performance. Hayes has performed among popular country acts Rascal Flatts and Taylor Swift since his debut.
